Hours and Availability

Effective Thursday, March 26, the Hedberg Library will be closed. The library and all of LIS have transitioned completely to virtual services. If you have questions or concerns, please send an email to help@carthage.edu. LIS staff are monitoring the system during regular business hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Circulation Services

Circulation services are suspended, except when requested through correspondence with a reference librarian. If you think you need something from the library, please visit our list of librarians and contact information, and send us a message. For the time being, due dates for all library items are still set to Wednesday, May 20. Any changes to that date will be communicated via The Bridge. Please remember that the library still expects all books, computing equipment, etc. to be returned to us.

Interlibrary Loans

Interlibrary Loan services are unavailable because libraries across the country are closed. At this time, we prefer that you work with one of our librarians directly to make sure you are fully utilizing Carthage’s resources to find what you need. Our staff is working remotely, so the fastest available service is by sending an email to help@carthage.edu. We are glad to work with you to get you the best resources possible.

Resources and Accessibility

Accessibility is even more important now for everyone, please make sure you’re aware of the online accessibility resources available to you.

We have a new trial for Flipster, an online service that allows you to read common periodicals from your device. To check for new resources, visit the library databases page and look in the right column. We also have a number of new videos on our YouTube channel, including a video about how to access resources from off campus.

Did you know you can check the status of all the technology used to support e-learning at My.carthage.edu? Well, now you do. Look on the right-hand side of the sign-in screen.

Social Media

Want to keep up to date with the library? Check us out on Facebook. If that doesn’t convince you, we also have pet pictures. We’re posting new updates every day of the week to keep you in the loop.

Please let us know if you need any assistance from us via Help@carthage.edu. Stay well, stay safe, and stay home, friends.
