Matt Wrbanek ?23 and Mia Morton ?21 performing at CSz Theater Chicago. During this time of uncertainty and social distancing, Merely Players Improv Comedy— a Carthage student organization, is providing much-needed comic relief to the Carthage community. 

Merely Players is utilizing virtual platforms and sharing their improv productions online. The org gathers weekly through Skype and acts out suggestions they receive by their followers. 

Videos of their performances can be found on their YouTube channel. 

“YouTube is a great platform to bring improv to everyone. If you can’t necessarily come to our shows, you can watch us anytime from anywhere in the world. People could use some humor right now.” said Becca Robertson ’23, a member of the Carthage Merely Players.

Videos are free and will be posted several times a week. Performances will include discussions and improv comedy games. 

2020 Merely Players Merely Players Improv Comedy was founded in 1993 and regularly hosts improv performances on campus. The organization competed in this year’s 13th Annual College Improv Tournament on Feb. 1 as part of the Windy City Regional Competition and finished second in their preliminary round.
