The Accounting and Finance Department is pleased to name Haylee Sippel ’20 as the Outstanding Senior in Accounting for the 2019-20 academic year. Haylee is an accounting and finance double major and will graduate Summa Cum Laude.

Beyond her outstanding performance in the classroom, Haylee is an active member of the Carthage community. Haylee is a member of the Carthage Accounting Association (CAA), Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society, and the new member educator for Pi Theta sorority.

During her freshman and sophomore years, Haylee was active in Enactus; she served as a speaker at the national competition and vice president of the student organization. Haylee was a resident assistant during the 2017-18 academic year where she provided a positive living environment and made lasting connections with Carthage residents, staff, and community. In addition, Haylee worked as an administrative assistant to the Division of Arts and Humanities during spring 2018 where she worked closely with the administrative team on budget management.

Through Haylee’s active involvement in CAA, she pursued opportunities and completed two internships in public accounting. Haylee gained invaluable professional experience at Deloitte in Milwaukee, Wis., and Plante Moran in Schaumburg, Ill.

Haylee accepted a full-time position with Plante Moran as an Audit Associate; she is excited to rejoin the firm in August and continue to build her professional skills and network. Haylee is currently studying for the CPA exam; she passed her first exam (REG) and will attempt the remaining three sections before the start of her full time position.

Congratulations, Haylee on your undergraduate accomplishments and we wish you luck in all of your future personal and professional endeavors!
