Each year the International Headquarters of Delta Upsilon selects two undergraduate members to attend the Undergraduate InterFraternity Institute (UIFI) on a full-ride scholarship. Erik Kowols ’16 was selected to receive one of the two scholarships given out this year.

The Undergraduate InterFraternity Institute is a five-day conference that brings together fraternity men and sorority women from across North America to create opportunities to explore, define, and enhance their leadership skills, personal awareness, and commitment to their fraternity or sorority; and grow to expect values-based action from themselves and those they lead. At UIFI, Erik will be given the skills to improve his own leadership abilities and positively affect his chapter, council, and Greek system.

While participating at UIFI, he will talk about how fraternity and sorority leaders live their Ritual. It means having the courage, character, and commitment to do what is right and devise a plan to change the current direction of some fraternities and sororities. It means having a vision of positive change.

The knowledge and resources that Erik will bring back to Carthage will not only help his chapter, but the entire campus as well. There is no doubt that he will do great things with his next two years here.
