The Operations Department would like to provide an update on the Lentz Hall construction project. We are happy to report that the project is on schedule and on budget. The Aspire Center project is funded by the 2016 gift from the Tarble Family Foundation; that gift earmarked funds for a new physical space for The Aspire Program. The HVAC improvements in Lentz Hall have been covered by compensation from insurance following the January 2020 flooding of the building’s mechanical room.

The renovation of the fourth floor of Lentz Hall is wrapping up with minor touch-ups and the laying of flooring in the main lobby. The floor installation will begin on Friday, June 19, and should be finished within a week. Accessibility will be maintained throughout the fourth floor during the floor installation.

Please note: The numbering system for some offices and departments has changed. Over the years, there have been a number of renovations. Because of this, it made it challenging to locate certain offices, departments, and classrooms located on the fourth floor. The fourth floor has now been numbered in systematic order.

Additionally, you will notice a crane on campus starting Monday, June 15. Entry into the building will be limited to the north and south entrances only. For the safety of employees, the main entrance of Lentz Hall will not be accessible from 7 a.m until 1 p.m. The Lentz visitor parking lot will also be closed from approximately 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. All other parking lots on campus will be available.

We are now in phase two of the project. This work is focused on the HVAC system throughout the second and third floors of the building. Employees with offices on the second or third floors of Lentz Hall will need to continue to work remotely until the completion of the project, which is scheduled for Aug. 15. Construction operations are ongoing and as such offices are still not available on a regular basis. Thermostats have been placed in individual offices and classrooms. When the project is complete, occupants will have the ability to control room temperature.

Should anyone have any questions about the project please feel free to contact Ted Fares.
