Brandon Rook leaving Carthage
It is with mixed emotions that I announce Brandon Rook’s departure from Carthage. He has accepted a position in the New York City area so he may be closer to his family.
Brandon joined the Office of Marketing and Communications as public relations manager in October 2018. During his time here, he has made a tremendous impact and many friends across campus.
Brandon has been a valued member of the communications team as he worked daily with local, regional, and national media to share important stories about Carthage and the achievements of our students, faculty, and staff. He also connected faculty members with the media, giving our professors a platform to provide important context on developing news stories and to be thought-leaders in their respective fields.
Brandon served as co-advisor of the Black Student Union and was instrumental in the planning and promotion of Carthage’s highly successful first-ever Trauma and Wellness Conference, which brought more than 350 visitors to campus in February and showcased the strength of Carthage faculty.
“Carthage is an amazing place and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to work with such outstanding students and colleagues over the last two years,” Brandon said. “Although this wasn’t an easy decision, I’m excited about this new career opportunity that will put me in ‘arms reach’ of some of the most important people in my life; my family.”
Brandon’s last day at Carthage will be Wednesday, July 1. Please join me in wishing him well and thanking him for all he’s done for Carthage!
