Kelly Alfano, executive assistant for the Office of the Provost, will be leaving Carthage to take a position as an executive assistant with Abbott Laboratories, where she worked for 26 years before coming to Carthage in 2016. Today is Kelly’s last day.

In her four years at Carthage, Kelly has played an instrumental role behind-the-scenes in helping to organize a wide range of College activities. She has assisted with many academic activities at Carthage, ensuring smooth processes for students and faculty. She has played a role in everything from Commencement and Celebration of Scholars, to the College’s participation in the annual National Conference on Undergraduate Research. She also managed logistics for Faculty Honors Scholarships and Faculty Service Fellowships for students, among many other things.

“I’ve made some very good friends here, who will be friends forever,” Kelly shared.

“Kelly is a fantastic human being, one of the most truly giving and generous people I have ever known, and a person who sacrifices herself for the good of others,” said Provost and Chief Operating Officer David Timmerman. “I will also miss her counsel and the many ways she sought day by day to be helpful to me. Be well, Kelly, you and your family!”
