This position is responsible for maintaining day-to-day plumbing and fire protection services for the College campus buildings.


  • Maintain and support all campus plumbing fixtures, drainage, and water supply.
  • Maintain and support all fire sprinkler systems, fire extinguishers, and fire hood systems.
  • Maintain and support all snow removal operations as needed for campus.
  • Responsible for Chapel set-up operations and furniture moving as needed.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)

  • Requires a minimum education generally equivalent to an Associate’s Degree from a related technical college program. It is desirable for the employee to be certified in Forklift Operation (Train the Trainer), NIULPE Third Glass Power Engineering, State of Wisconsin Cross Connection Control Tester Registration.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 to 12 months of similar maintenance operations experience.
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, students, and faculty members.
  • Requires the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, division, and
  • Requires the ability to use a personal computer and Web browser, helpdesk ticketing, and network troubleshooting software.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move over 100 pounds to move furniture between offices. Work is performed in an office environment in a variety of work locations throughout the Carthage Campus. The employee is occasionally working near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, in wet/humid conditions, in outdoor conditions, with exposure to bodily fluids and contagious diseases, in proximity to fumes or airborne particles, and near the risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud, depending on tools/equipment used in campus work location (such as drilling and loud machinery).
