Student Recital ?Persist? Tim Wagner ’21 will present a student recital titled “Persist” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, in the A. F. Siebert Chapel. This recital is open to Carthage students, faculty, and staff only. External patrons are welcome to join us from home through our livestream.   

Tim will showcase his vocal technique through a variety of songs in “Persist.” The recital will open with “The People that Walked in Darkness” from Handel’s “Messiah” and then continue with various vocal works including songs by Jean-Baptiste Lully, Robert Schumann, and Stefano Donaudy. In addition to these works, Tim will perform a series of canzonets by Thomas Morley and various songs from the song cycle “Songs of Travel” by Ralph Vaughan Williams.

The second half of the recital includes songs from various musical theatre productions. These include “Where Was I When They Passed Out the Luck” from Minnie’s Boys, “If Ever I Would Leave You” from “Camelot,” “Stars” from “Les Miserables,” “Lily’s Eyes” from “The Secret Garden,” and “Where I Want To Be” from “Chess.” Tim will also perform “Reflective Mood” by Sammy Nestico on the trombone.

New ticket procedures for Carthage students, faculty, and staff:

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carthage Fine Arts events are currently closed to external guests, but many will be available for livestream viewing. We have also changed how Carthage students, faculty, and staff obtain tickets. All fall events remain free, but tickets are now required in advance.

  • For the fall 2020 semester, it is encouraged to obtain your tickets online 24/7 at the private link: Tickets/TimWagnerRecital. Online ticket fees have been waived for fall 2020.
  • Tickets are also available at the Fine Arts Box Office from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, in the Straz Center.
  • At events, there will be no walk-up ticket option, will call, or cash sales. Please use the online link to get tickets.
  • Masks are required to enter the building. If you arrive without a mask, there will be masks available for purchase of $5 before you enter the building via credit card.
  • Seating will be reserved to ensure social distancing. Seating is limited to 10 people, and seating will be in the east balcony. You will receive your seating assignment prior to your arrival. Patrons with special needs should notify the Box Office when getting tickets so the proper arrangements can be made.
  • There is no intermission or late seating for this event. Please give yourself plenty of time to get to your seat, and we will ask everyone to go to their seats immediately when they arrive.
