Do you want to learn more about international politics? If so, come join Carthage’s Model United Nations by coming to our first meeting of the semester at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, on Zoom.

Model United Nations is a club open to all majors, in which students get the opportunity to participate in conferences to help advance their knowledge of the international community and learn practical life skills by representing countries in a mock United Nations simulation. Through public speaking, writing position papers, and friendly competition, these conferences aid our members in becoming more well informed and impactful students and mentors.

Typically, each year, our members take part in several different events, including one conference that is located in Chicago and the other being either a domestic or international conference in the spring. In the past, our students have had the opportunity to go to Romania, Colombia, Scotland, Canada, Israel, and Amsterdam. This year, our organization has hosted an online High School conference, and we are currently exploring virtual conferences to attend with delegates from other schools.

If you are interested in learning about different countries and cultures, while also having fun meeting new people, join us at our first meeting!

If you would like to attend the meeting, please email President Kelsey Spears ’21 ( or Secretary Jessi Groth ’22 ( for the Zoom meeting link.

We look forward to seeing you there!
