Summer housing applications are open!

Carthage is excited to once again offer a summer housing program for students interested in engaging and developing themselves as students over the summer. Students remaining on campus during the summer of 2021 will reside in the Tower Residence Hall.

How do students sign up for summer housing?

Applications are available in the Housing Self Service portal (via the My.Carthage portal). All students requesting a space in our summer housing program must fill out the application form. Verification from a current faculty/staff member or supervisor is also required as part of the application process. Please be aware that space is limited for summer housing. Applications will be approved on a space-available basis.

When is the application for summer housing due?

Summer housing applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 9. All students requesting summer housing after May 9 should email the Office of Residential Life at housing@carthage.edu.

Who is eligible to apply for summer housing?

Students must be a current or graduating Carthage student and must meet one of the following criteria:

• Be enrolled in a summer course at Carthage
• Be a participant in the SURE program
• Be a participant in the Urban Teacher Preparation Program
• Be a student employee for an on-campus position

* Students working off campus will still be considered for summer housing, but priority will be given to students who meet one of the criteria listed above.

Priority is given to students meeting one of the criteria above. Students who are participating in an internship off campus will be considered but not given first priority for summer housing. Please note: students working on campus are required to work 20 hours a week during their on-campus summer employment. 

Where will students live?

Summer students will reside in the Tower Residence Hall. Students staying over the summer will start transitioning to their summer housing assignment between Wednesday, May 19 and Friday, May 28. Students will be notified by the Office of Residential Life when their summer housing assignment becomes available.
