Carthage students now have the opportunity to do archaeological excavation in the Comte region of eastern France. Excavations have been on-going at Mandeure for over 100 years, and they center around a huge Roman theater. Remote sensing has revealed an entire Roman city around the theater, and the 2022 season will continue to explore and learn about the buildings and people who surrounded the theater. Students will live near the dig site in Mandeure and excursions on the weekend will go to regional sites, museums, and cultural centers. Students will join an international group of excavators working to reveal the hidden secrets of this impressive Roman site.
