All Stories

Utah Beach Museum Come learn about the J-Term 2022 study tour: “Museum Studies: Great American Museums” in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Pa., and New York, N.Y during an information session at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, April 8.

Attend the Zoom session

Ostensibly, the focus will be on museums, but we’ll be looking more deeply at the ways that stories are told — stories about history, stories about identity, stories about belonging, stories about remembering — in three of the United States’ most fascinating cities. We’ll explore this history of museums and delve into current debates related to museums, monuments, memorials and objects. We’ll look into the ways that museums tell stories, and we’ll discuss who owns these stories, who gets to shape them, and how this sense of ownership has evolved.

If you are interested in art, politics, diversity, race, identity, history, literature, or architecture, you will find lots to interest you in this course.
