Andrew Villa ’21 receives Carthage’s 2020-21 Excellence in Nursing Award
This year’s recipient of the newly established Carthage College Excellence in Nursing Award is Andrew Villa ’21. Andrew is a nursing student who demonstrates a clear sense of direction for his nursing career. The nursing faculty at Carthage agree that Andrew is well on his way to attain his goal of completing a doctorate in nursing and teaching in a university setting.
Nicole Pukala ’23, a current nursing student, shares, “Andrew has led me to success in the nursing program, and I truly don’t think I could have done it without him. Not only has he taught me, but he also taught many of my classmates. He teaches countless students how to be more competent in their skills.”
Nursing student Jillian Shorten ’23 says, “Andrew has many titles — president of Nursing Student Council, Carthage Association of Nursing Students member, nursing lab assistant, nursing mentor, and many more. All of these roles have something in common: they show the pure dedication and passion that Andrew has for his school and his career.”
