Deborah Colletti ’21 named 2020-21 AUS Distinguished Adult Learner
The Distinguished Adult Learner Award is given to a graduating senior in the seven-week or part-time semester program with a 3.6 cumulative GPA or above. The student must have earned at least 40 graded credits at Carthage, as well as at least 75 percent of their Carthage credits through the AUS program.
Professor Mike Phegley, one of Deborah’s faculty references, said of her, “She put in the effort by doing each assignment thoroughly and extremely well. She also sought out extra guidance as needed in addition to taking advantage of all opportunities to improve her grade, including some extra credit. She wanted to learn and did not just simply show up for credits. She was definitely one of my top AUS students over the years and one that I easily remember.”
Deborah began taking classes with AUS in spring 2016. She is a legal administrator at Abbott Laboratories. She has been with the company for two years and has an exemplary record of service. A true Wisconsinite, she takes pride in her Midwestern values and inherent compassion for the people she chooses to lead and work with. Driven by intellectual curiosity, Deborah has pursued her education with rigor and diligence like everything else in her life. She is an avid runner who loves living life with her boyfriend, Kurt, and her adult children. People who know her and have had the pleasure of working with her know that she is on to great things in life, both professionally and personally.
