J-Term 2019: Sports Journalism: Baseball J-Term 2019: Sports Journalism: BaseballThe summer 2022 study tour Sports Journalism: Baseball still has a few spots available. For this study tour, students will attend games at all the California MLB parks and write stories about the games. We will also meet with professional journalists and baseball executives, as well as take behind-the-scenes tours of several major league parks.

The tour will travel to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego from May 25 through June 5, 2022, spending approximately 3-4 days in each city. The trip fee is $1,700 and includes all transportation, lodging, and tickets. Food is not included.

Sports Journalism: Baseball does count as a J-Term class, though it travels during the baseball season. An added benefit for enrolled students is having January free, as there are no meetings in January.

California has some of the best teams and ballparks in major league baseball, and Carthage has some strong baseball connections in the state. The course is ideal for students interested in working in sports media or sports marketing and public relations.

Contact Professor Jon Bruning (jbruning@carthage.edu) if you’re interested in the tour.
