Lynn Draeger ’83
Lynn Draeger Ivan graduated from Carthage in 1983 with bachelor’s degrees in accounting and music. She went on to become a certified public accountant and completed her master’s degree in business administration. She is currently the chief financial officer for a petroleum distributor.
Ms. Draeger was an advisor for the Carthage Pi Theta Social Sorority for three years. Recently, she served on the Fundraising Committee for the 150 Years of Carthage Women initiative.
Ms. Draeger married her husband, John, in 1996, and they have a son who is a current senior at Iowa State University. She resides in Wadsworth, Ill.
Sharbel Maalouf ’11
Sharbel J. Maalouf ’11, a native from Pleasant Prairie, Wis., graduated from Carthage with a degree in business administration. He later earned an MBA from DePaul University and a general management degree from Harvard Business School.
Mr. Maalouf has held numerous roles at Medline Industries in Northfield, Ill. and is currently president of the Personal Care Division.
Mark Mydlach ’88
Mark Mydlach ’88 came to Carthage from Wilmette, Ill. and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology. As a student, he was a lab tutor and member of Delta Omega Nu fraternity. He obtained his MBA from Northwestern University. Mr. Mydlach has worked at Stepan Company for 33 years, taking on roles in sales and marketing, as well as an international assignment as general manager of Asia.
Mr. Mydlach and his wife, Cindy (Beardsley)’89, have three grown children and enjoy traveling and spending time at their lake house in Wisconsin.
Gussie Yonashiro-Daniels ’84
Gussie Yonashiro-Daniels graduated from Carthage with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1984, and she earned a master’s degree in clinical counseling from National Louis University in 1997. She has worked in the non-profit sector for over 20 years in such agencies as the YWCA and Girl Scouts. In 2021, she retired as the president and CEO of the YWCA of Lake County, Ill.
Ms. Yonashiro-Daniels grew up in Okinawa, Japan and moved to the United States when she was 18 years old. One of her passions is diversity, equity, and inclusion. She served as the National Director of Diversity and Inclusion for the YMCA.
Her hobbies include swimming, gardening, and reading.
