Assistant Professor of Communications and Digital Media
The Department of Communication and Digital Media seeks a full time contract appointment in digital film and new media production beginning Fall 2022. We seek a candidate with demonstrated academic experience as well as professional experience in screen media.
Teaching courses in communication and digital film/video production, including digital cinema production, theory and aesthetics, and other related courses based on the needs of the department and the faculty member’s expertise. Candidates will also have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the new interdisciplinary Photography, Film and New Media and Game Development programs.
Master’s degree required, doctorate preferred, from an accredited college or university, as well as a demonstrated commitment to teaching and creative and/or scholarly activity in the areas of digital film and/or video production. Interest in developing and implementing curricula that address multicultural issues and diversity is especially valued. In addition to teaching, faculty members are expected to take an active role in recruitment and retention of students, student advising, and departmental and college service.
