The Burckhardt Lecture Series: John E. Happ Carthage will host writer John E. Happ to break down his book, “The Navigation Case,” which takes the reader on a journey back to the U.S. Air Force’s use of aviation power during the New Guinea War. Taking valuable insight from first-hand accounts, military documents, and souvenirs collected by his father who served in New Guinea, Mr. Happ gives the reader an insightful journey into the hallmark events of the New Guinea War.

Join us for this Burckhardt Lecture Series at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the Campbell Student Union Auditorium.

John E. Happ has written for the Journal of the American Revolution, The 75th Artillery C.A.C., and the adventure magazine Atlantic Coastal Kayaker. Born and raised in Chicago, Mr. Happ, who has studied and traveled extensively around the world, learning five languages along the way, brings a unique perspective to the understanding of WWII.
