London Roysden ?22 Student Recital London Rosyden ’22 will perform her recital “Statues and Stories: A Senior Recital” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, in the H. F. Johnson Recital Hall. She will be joined by guest artists Savannah Kroeger ’23 and Katiann Nelson ’23. Melissa Cardamone, adjunct professor of music, will also accompany London and the guest artists throughout the recital.

London will devote the majority of her recital to two major works: Franz Schubert’s “Shepherd on the Rock” and Claude Debussy’s “Ariettes oubliées.” Composed within the last few months of his life, Schubert’s “Shepherd on the Rock” is a Lied for soprano and clarinet that describes a longing shepherd in the mountaintops. Debussy’s song cycle “Ariettes oubliées” showcases six poems by Paul Verlaine. London will also premier a song set by Katiann Nelson ’23 with texts by Emily Dickenson.
