The 2021 Carthage Japanese Cultural Festival was a success!

Kris Wolf ’24 and Brian Keele ’22 demonstrate how to wear Hakama, traditional clothing for Ja...Kris Wolf ’24 and Brian Keele ’22 demonstrate how to wear Hakama, traditional clothing for Japanese martial art.The Annual Carthage Japanese Cultural Festival, sponsored by the Modern Languages Department and Asian Studies Program, was successfully held on Nov. 18.

Approximately over 60 people attended the event. Professor Steve Udry, director of the Asian Studies Program, gave an opening speech, and Professor Yan Wang, Japanese program coordinator, delivered a closing remark. Students studying Japanese at Carthage performed a variety of instruments, songs, dances, martial arts, etc., including both traditional and modern culture.
