All Stories

Am I living up to my purpose? What is my life asking of me? How can I build and sustain a meaningful life?

These questions and more will be addressed in a 40-day campus-wide program focused on intentional thinking and reflection. This program, called 40Form, is open to all students, faculty, and staff and is sponsored by the Center for Faith and Spirituality (CFS).

About the program

Participants will reflect on the stories they tell themselves, the influences in their lives, their strengths and weaknesses, the opportunities and threats that enable their purpose, and how they approach decision-making. Grounded in lived experience, 40Form guides reflection on personal experiences, values, inherent nature, current realities, faith, and aspirational growth to unlock insights about individual vocation.

How to participate

It’s easy to participate! Simply sign up for the program and receive a daily email with questions to guide your thinking. You can journal or simply reflect on the daily prompts. You are encouraged to reflect weekly with others on their responses as part of a community of journeyers. Participants are also invited to gather for an optional weekly small-group discussion for both students (led by Holly Hess) and staff (led by Pastor Kara Baylor) with free lunch on Wednesdays, in one of the spaces in A. F. Siebert Chapel.

If you are interested in joining 40Form, reach out to Debbie Clark at dclark@carthage.edu by Friday, Jan. 28.

Student participants will also earn credit on their MAP (My Aspire Plan) powered by Suitable.

The 40Form program will be facilitated by Holly Hess, purposeful life and leadership coordinator through the CFS and The Aspire Center.
