Jan. 27-29 | 7:30 p.m.
The Carthage Music Theatre Program presents “The Last Five Years” by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Rogelio Castro ’22. “The Last Five Years” is the story of Cathy Hiatt and Jamie Wellerstein, two imperfect people, trying to make sense of their failed marriage. Cathy, a struggling actress, and Jamie, a successful writer, investigate questions, doubts, and insecurities within themselves and about each other. The story unfolds from two different timelines simultaneously. Jamie’s perspective is told chronologically, beginning just after the couple first meets. Cathy’s story begins with the end of the marriage and works backward, arriving at the earliest moments of their partnership. “The Last Five Years” heartbreakingly and richly explores the complexities of falling in and out of love, and how sometimes “goodbye” is not a choice, but a necessity.
All tickets are $7.
