The Aspire Center and Office of Alumni and Family Engagement are excited to launch the first affinity-based mentorship program in spring 2022!

The Wiggan-Kenniebrew Mentoring Program is a semester-long guided mentorship between current Black students and alumni. The program creates supportive, authentic relationships that foster students’ sense of belonging through career, life, and goal development conversations.

Register by Friday, Feb. 11 to participate in the program.

The program is housed within The Aspire Network and Alumni Directory, an online networking and mentoring platform, which allows for the following features:

  • A guided pathway for both mentors and students
  • Intuitive 1:1 matching driven by students’ interests and goals
  • Dynamic communication hub for all messages, video calls, and document sharing
  • Virtual mentoring to increase access for both mentors and mentees with opportunities for in-person engagement

Mentors and mentees will be matched on Monday, Feb. 14, with a training meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 16. In the training meeting, we will cover the basics of the program, go over what to expect, and help you make the initial connection with your mentor.

Mentorship boasts many benefits, and we hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity. As a part of the Wiggan-Kenniebrew Mentoring Program, you’ll set goals unique to your specific path, gain knowledge from mentors with real-world experience, and leave with long-lasting personal and professional development advice.

Not able to commit to a full mentoring program? You can still create quick mentorship experiences on The Aspire Network! Students, make sure to claim your free Aspire Network account. Once claimed, you can update your profile, watch platform tutorials, and see mentors who have already signed up!
