NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) has announced this week's Swimmer and Diver of the Week awards, with senior Mitchell Mages and sophomore Sam Wallace winning both awards respectively announced on Tuesday.
Mages, from Skokie, Ill., wins his second Swimmer of the Week award this year, fifth overall, after registering first place victories in the 100-yard breaststroke (55.20), 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.72), and 100-yard butterfly (51.26). Mages also swam in the 200-yard medley relay that clocked a first-place time of 1:35.69.
Wallace, from Bloomington, Minn., won the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 290.92 and 307.11. Wallace won his third-straight Diving Student-Athlete of the Week honor as the Firebird swim and dive team beat Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, 190-99.
Carthage returns to the pool on Friday, January 28, for the Wisconsin Private Championship, with diving events taking place on Friday, followed by the swim events on Saturday, January 29.
