All Stories

The 2022 Chinese New Year, also known as the Year of the Tiger, began on Feb. 1 and ended on Feb. 15 (the day of the Chinese Lantern Festival). Around 50 people attended the Carthage celebration on Feb. 14.

Martial Arts Performance Students, faculty, and community members participated in lantern riddle-solving, craft-making (red envelope and banner), martial arts, string quartet, storytelling, games, and karaoke, as well as watched performances given by the Chinese Program faculty and students. Most attendees stayed until the last minutes of the celebration for the lucky draw, in which five students won a tiger lantern!

Thank you to all the organizers, performers, and participants who helped make this event possible. A special thanks goes to Chinese TLE Chih-Hsuan Tsao (from Taiwan). We also greatly appreciate the support from the Modern Languages Department and Chinese Club.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the Chinese New Year Celebration next year!
新年快乐! (Happy New Year!)
