Attend Compact Career Workshops during the Internship and Career Fair April 13
The Aspire Center is hosting Compact Career Workshops during the Spring Internship and Career Fair on Wednesday, April 13.
Are you already employed or have secured an internship? Not quite ready for a fair? Or will you need a break while attending the fair? Prepare for your life after Carthage by attending Compact Career Workshops in the Todd Wehr Center (TWC) 128s and B/C rooms. These mini workshops will help students dig deeper into the topics of living in the local community, budgeting, and gap year experiences.
Students from all colleges are welcome to attend.
Life Balance, Live Local
4:15 p.m., TWC
Explore the benefits of starting your career in the Kenosha and Racine community! The Kenosha Area Business Alliance and the Racine County Economic Development Corporation will provide an overview of all the benefits to living, working, and playing in the community. This workshop will help you navigate life as a new professional connecting with others through all the fun things to do in the community. You will also discuss the cost of living in Kenosha/ Racine, transportation options to navigate the cities, and the best restaurants.
Plan Your Financial Future

Once you start your career after Carthage, are you wondering how to manage your money? Learn from Carthage alumnus Kevin Loughlin ’09 with Northwestern Mutual how to leverage your power in negotiating your salary offers, budget your income, and invest in your future.
How to Fill a Gap Year
5:15 p.m., TWC
Gap years are a break between formal education and your future career or educational pathways. There is not a “one size fits all” gap year experience, so explore a variety of ways students have completed gap years post-graduation. This session will highlight options including Americorp Vista programs, preparing for full-time jobs and graduate school and/or medical school prep.
