Faculty and staff members, this is not a good time to update your computer to Windows 11.

While you may get notifications that Windows 11 is available, Library and Information Services (LIS) is not recommending updating at this time. Several of the applications that Carthage uses have not been updated to work with Windows 11.

Our best practice is to not update your operating system, Windows or MacOS, during the academic semester and/or before the College conducts adequate testing of standard software. Please watch for LIS to announce a recommendation for these OS upgrades. When Windows 11 and/or newer versions of MacOS become campus standards, we will ask you (or assist you, as needed) to back up your files before you start the update, and we will provide instructions. We appreciate your patience as we seek to maintain the most stable technology experience possible.
