Student pose with President Swallow's dog, Watson. The ultimate Throwback Thursday!

Befitting this year’s “Blast from the Past” theme, the Carthage community made sure Giving Day 2022 was swell, groovy, hip, rad, gnarly, phat, and fire all at once.

There was plenty to celebrate. Thanks to the generosity of alumni, parents, employees, students, and other supporters, we surpassed funding goals for each of our nine mini challenges for student-centered programs and financial aid.

Overall, Giving Day brought in well over $100,000 for new and ongoing Carthage priorities, meeting 90 percent of the participation goal, and unlocking an additional $225,000 of the Trustees Challenge!

President Swallow and Prof. Hancock face off in a game of Pac-Man. The annual fundraising sprint culminated with a daylong celebration on March 31. Themed highlights included a retro gaming competition, featuring classic favorites Pac-Man and Galaga. Carthaginians aimed to top the high scores of “celebrity gamers” like President John Swallow and the new vice president of college culture for inclusion, Michele Hancock.

Thank you! These results would not be possible without broad-based and generous support from the entire Carthage community.
