Kappa Pi, Carthage’s honorary art fraternity, hosted a 24-hour Draw-A-Thon. Students and artists visited the Cambell Student Union living room to relax and draw on the twenty-foot canvas.

Picture of 20-foot canvas for Kappa Pi's 24-hour draw-a-thon “This is the fourth time Kappa Pi has hosted this event,” says fraternity board member Lindsey Neu ’22. “After taking a hiatus last year due to COVID-19, we are so happy to be able to return to this Kappa Pi tradition, and we hope to continue hosting a Draw-A-Thon annually.”

Each year, proceeds from the event are donated to a different local charity. This year, Kappa Pi raised funds for Women and Children’s Horizons, a Kenosha-based charity providing respite to victims of domestic assault.

“Over the course of 24 hours, over 40 people came to draw on our canvas,” says Jenna Watkins ’23. “Since we were raising money for charity, we were so happy with the turnout we saw.”

Not only was the Draw-A-Thon for a good cause, but there was a twenty-foot canvas of beautiful art to enjoy at the end!

Keep an eye out next year for Kappa Pi’s 24-hour Draw-A-Thon.
