Percussion Studio Concert Attend the Percussion Studio Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 12, in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.

If you are new to percussion, you will learn quickly that these instruments will not just be triangles and drums! Carthage’s Percussion Ensemble members are masters of percussion and able to perform on multiple instruments, including the xylophone, marimba, and glockenspiel. The ensemble will perform three pieces: Tom Gauger’s “Gainsborough,” Brian Blume’s “Black Racer,” and “Smoke Free Building,” a composition written by our very own Noah Wilson ’23. A few students from the Percussion Ensemble will perform solo pieces as well. This performance is an experience that you will not want to miss!

The Percussion Ensemble is led by Professor Michael Kozakis, a percussionist who performs in the Chicago area. He has performed as an extra percussionist for the Chicago Symphony and Lyric Opera orchestras. While on campus, Prof. Kozakis instructs percussion students, helping them hone their skills while creating a repertoire that allows them to display their talents to the community.
