Carthage Philharmonic Philharmonic Concert Spring 2022 will present their spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.

The concert will feature 2022’s Concerto Competition Winner, Katiann Nelson ’22. She will perform a piece by Amy Beach’s “Piano Concerto.”

The Philharmonic Orchestra is led by Professor E. Edward Kawakami, who is an active clinician and guest conductor. Prof. Kawakami also serves as the associate professor of music and the director of orchestral activities at Carthage. Carthage’s Philharmonic gives concerts each term and performs from a repertoire that embraces all of the orchestral canon, including artists like Bach, Handel, Stravinsky, and more. This concert will feature music by Amy Beach and a piece by Stravinsky, the “Firebird Suite.”
