Tianna Conway, director of arts events and audience engagement, will depart Carthage after seven years of leadership at the College. Tianna will become the new managing director of the Fine and Performing Arts Center at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Ill.

We invite the campus to join us in thanking Tianna for her service at a sendoff celebration from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in the Ehrler Hospitality Center (northwest side of A. F. Siebert Chapel).

During her time at Carthage, Tianna established the Office of Performing and Visual Arts and launched the online Fine Arts Box Office ticketing system and the Friends of the Arts donor program. She elevated the print and online materials for all visual and performing arts events through successful collaboration with the Office of Marketing and Communications and a team of student staff.

Under her leadership, Carthage was one of the few arts programs that continued to provide performance opportunities for students and guests during COVID-19. She was instrumental in helping to research, create, and execute special COVID-19 safety protocols.

Tianna has been a strong mentor to students with an interest in arts administration. A spring 2022 Aspire Center event featured a panel of alumni with careers in arts administration who had been mentored by Tianna.

She was committed to the Performing Arts Series (PAS), bringing guest artists such as Chanticleer to Carthage for performances. She took great care in developing relationships with public schools for outreach and in bringing those schools to Carthage as part of the PAS program supported through the Racine Community Foundation.

Tianna is the chair of the Wisconsin Presenters Network through 2024 and is one of the founders of Heartland Performing Arts, LLC, in which she serves as the board of directors secretary. This new non-profit organization connects schools and communities with performers through the Midwest Arts Xpo.

Please join us as we wish Tianna well in her next adventure!
