Nicholas Poole

Freshman
Carthage College
Major: Physics & Mathematics
Minor: None

Nicholas Poole received a 2016 Undergraduate Scholarship Award for the 2016-17 academic year as a graduating senior from Oak Creek High School and has been selected for this week’s #WSGCStudentSpotlight! He is doing well in his freshman year at Carthage College!

Ever since elementary school, Nicholas has had a passion for science. He is captivated by the wonders of the universe. Physics and astronomy truly excite him. Nicholas spent a lot of time during his childhood watching science documentaries about the intricacies of time and space. As he has grown older, the concepts have become easier to grasp. With a knack for math and a love for science, Nicholas desires to help expand our collective understanding of the universe!

Nicholas is currently participating on the RockSat-C team at Carthage! The goal of the project is to measure electromagnetic radiation produced by lightning in the atmosphere and lower ionosphere. This will be done through a student built payload that will be on a sub-orbital rocket through the RockSat-C program.

Congratulations Nicholas and best of luck to you at Carthage!
