The Nursing Program has great news about our voluntary, self-regulatory accreditation process. We had the pleasure of having the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) site visitors on campus Feb. 27 through March 1.

We hosted three team members with vast experience in nursing education who have conducted over 30 visits each across the nation in their academic nursing careers. The breadth of wisdom and knowledge that they brought to our review is remarkable.

They reviewed Carthage student services, faculty qualifications, adherence to standards/laws/requirements, curriculum, clinical sites, community partners, data analysis of course performance, program outcomes, and faculty outcomes.

Our goal was to showcase the excellence of Carthage nursing, and we met our goal.
All four standards and subsequent subsections are met. No further work has been requested from our team. The length of continued accreditation, 5 or 10 years, will be determined by the CCNE Board at their meeting in the fall.

This affirms the quality of the Carthage Nursing Program and the confidence that our accreditors have in your faculty, clinical sites, and education. We are grateful to our stellar faculty/staff and to our awesome nursing students for their dedication to the future of nursing.
