Carthage to host Urban Education Summit Sept. 28
Carthage will host the Urban Education Summit — Back to School Kickoff for educators in the Kenosha, Racine, and northern Illinois areas. The event takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Todd Wehr Center.
Professor Gholnecsar (Gholdy) Muhammad is our keynote speaker at the event. Prof. Muhammad is a leader who strives to shape the national conversation for educating underserved youth. Currently an associate professor of language and literacy at Georgia State University, she serves as the director of the Urban Literacy Collaborative and Clinic.
Dinner is included, as well as a copy of Prof. Muhammad’s book “Unearthing Joy.”
