New Light Box Therapy available to students
Light Box Therapy is a new service available to students who might be experiencing seasonal depression or depression symptoms.
Light therapy works by mimicking natural light that may help balance serotonin, a neurotransmitter that helps functions such as mood, sleep, and other biological processes. Treatment generally begins with 20 to 30 minutes of light box treatment. Most people may benefit from using light therapy early in the day, typically within the first few waking hours of the morning.
To schedule a Light Box Therapy appointment or to find out more about Light Box Therapy, please call the Health and Counseling Center at 262-551-5710 or stop in the center on the first floor of the Todd Wehr Center. Appointments are available between 8 and 10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and between 8:30 and 10 a.m. Thursdays.
