Carthage is a recipient of a grant from NetVUE dedicated to helping faculty and staff explore their own vocations and then, in turn, help students discover their vocations. This unique professional development opportunity will help all Firebirds connect through reflective activities.

Up to 25 participants are eligible for a $500 stipend for completing the series of small group discussions known as a vocation circle and connecting with 10 students twice throughout the academic year. This project is one of several projects advancing to connect the Center for Faith and Spirituality, The Aspire Program, and academic affairs.

Sign up to participate in the Callings Program by Friday, Sept. 13.

Callings Program participant Chris Grugel reflected on his experience in the program last year. “Getting to know students and your colleagues better is always a good thing, and the Callings Program delivered on creating an authentic experience to talk about questions that have no age limit,” he said. “This program explores the balance and relationship between passions, profession, and community needs, and how it is different for everybody. Talking about these questions with students will bring to light challenges and opportunities they face individually, while at the same time cause you to reflect on your own answers to these questions.”
