As part of the Hannibal Lecture Series, Samuel Stoner will give a talk titled “Thinking about Descartes” at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 12 in the Niemann Media Theatre.

Dr. Stoner is a Post-Doctoral Fellow of Western Heritage at Carthage. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy at Tulane University in 2014.

His talk will explore Descartes’s project, how his thought shaped our understanding of philosophy and science, and what the purpose of science actually is. 

This lecture is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
