Drone acquired images have revolutionized the way geospatial information is obtained. Whether the topic is the war on terrorism, emergency response, or precision agriculture, drones are changing the way we analyze and view the world.

Starting this fall, students in GEO 1610 (Mapping Your World: Introduction to Geographical Information Science) will be exposed to this cutting-edge technology through a drone image based lab exercise in the new state-of-the-art GSS Lab in the David Straz Center for the Natural and Social Sciences. This introductory course is the initial course in our new geospatial science major.
