Professor Douglas Frame of the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University will be at Carthage on Monday, Nov. 16, to speak on mortality, immortality, and the mind. He will give a lecture titled “Echoes of the Indo-European Twin Gods in Greek and Sanskrit Epic: Achilles and Arjuna” at 4:15 p.m. in Hedberg Library’s Niemann Media Theater.

Prof. Frame is Senior Researcher and the emeritus Associate Director of Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C. Now retired from his administrative duties, he continues to work with the Center’s Director, Dr. Gregory Nagy, and Publications Director, Dr. Leonard Muellner, on a range of scholarly projects. These fall into three main areas: Homeric Studies, in which he has published a groundbreaking monograph and written several articles in recent years; Sanskrit epic; and CHS publications, which he serves as an editorial board member. Some of his scholarly work is accessible via the CHS website: chs.harvard.edu.
