Carthage art professor Kim Greene is one of nine artists from around the country selected for the exhibit “The Soap Factory Presents: R.U.R.” at the Soap Factory in Minneapolis. The exhibit runs March 2-April 21, 2013. An opening reception was planned for 7 to 11 p.m. March 2.

According to the Soap Factory, R.U.R. is a group exhibition that showcases the best projects from across North America, gathered during an annual call for submissions. Artists create new, site-specific installations. Built in 1882, The Soap Factory’s historic building offers raw and undeveloped industrial space and a 12,000 square foot gallery. The exhibition’s title, “R.U.R.” comes from “Rossum’s Universal Robots,” the 1921 Czech play by Karel Capek that first coined the word “robot.”
