Did you know …

That the Writing Center is open for many hours each week to assist you with all of your writing projects? It is!
The Writing Center is open this semester on Sunday from noon until 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., and Saturday from noon until 3 p.m.

That our Writing Fellows have different specialty areas? They do!
That’s right. Each tutor has a different area of expertise in writing. Their specialties include science, social work, communications, music, English, political science, and other subjects. There are also tutors who specialize in research papers, citing sources in APA or MLA format, resumes, and English as a Second Language.

You may request assistance in one of these areas, or a related area, and we’ll do our best to schedule you with the Writing Fellow who can best meet your needs.

That you can request an appointment through email? You can … but …
If you send a message to writingcenter@carthage.edu, we’ll send you the directions to register and make your appointment through our online scheduling program, WCOnline. It’s fast and easy!

That the Writing Center has a library of style manuals and writing guides? We do!
Any student or faculty member can drop in during regular hours to consult our style manuals, dictionaries, thesaurus, or other books on writing. It’s a good way to find the definitive answer to your writing or citation questions. Among other guides, we have Write for College, the APA Style manual, the MLA style manual, and the Chicago Manual of Style. We also have access to an always up-to-date online writing manual, “Writer’s Help.”

That you will receive a free pencil and bookmark from the Writing Center by just stopping by and asking for them? You will!
We’re located in the Hedberg Library – main floor, on the north wall (enter through the westside door).

Call or e-mail today for directions for scheduling your appointment at 262-552-5536 or writingcenter@carthage.edu, AND, stop by for your pencil and bookmark today!
