Alyssa Naker, MSN, RN, BA, is a Kenosha native and graduated from Carthage College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. While at Carthage, she was on the Dean’s List for academic excellence, served as president of Chi Omega National Sorority, and was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Beta Beta Beta, both honors societies.

Following Carthage, she was accepted into DePaul University’s competitive Master’s-entry into Nursing Program, in Chicago, Illinois. Alyssa graduated in 2015 with her Master of Science degree in general nursing and chose to reside permanently in the Kenosha area.

Alyssa has worked in healthcare locally since the age of 15 when she started working for Children’s Wisconsin. Once she became a nurse, her focus was surgical nursing, and she was able to care for our state’s most vulnerable pediatric population at Children’s Wisconsin’s main campus in Milwaukee. Currently, she is still an active surgery nurse at Aurora Medical Center Kenosha.

In 2017, Alyssa served as a clinical instructor for the first cohort of Carthage nursing students and joined the Carthage Nursing Department as a full-time faculty member in September 2021. She is currently the Learning Laboratories Coordinator and facilitates all of the nursing and inter-professional simulations that take place in the Nursing Learning Lab.
