We are an amusement park and as such project a fun working atmosphere. Employees get the benefit of enjoying the park for free and getting complimentary tickets for their friends or family. They meet good friends and have fun. One of the major challenges many workers face is that being a theme park, we are only able to offer seasonal employment.
When you are looking for new employees, what do you search for?
We are looking for friendly people who love to talk to people and engage strangers in conversation and be able to make them feel welcome. We need dedicated people who are committed to being here and be willing to take care of our park’s guests.
What does a typical hiring process look like for your organization?
You first have to apply online at sixflagsjob.com. Then someone will contact you for an interview with a department representative. Then you are extended an offer of employment. You then attend park Discovery (orientation). You then get scheduled for department training and then you can start work!
What tips do have for students and alumni who are looking to enter your industry?
Always be smiling and friendly. Do not be afraid of strangers and talking to people. You need excellent customer service skills and a willingness to help.
