Founder and CEO of ScaleInsight K.K. in Japan

Former Mizuno intern Andy Nimmer ’01 spent the summer of 1998 working for Mizuno Sports in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. By drafting reports and proposals in Japanese and creating displays for exhibitions and trade shows, he learned how another culture conducts business. During his junior year, Mr. Nimmer studied abroad at Tokyo Gakugei University.

After graduating with a degree in Japanese, he worked as a customer service representative for Japan Airlines at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. He had the chance to experience a global SAP rollout, which ultimately drove him to start a career in IT recruitment.

Today, Mr. Nimmer works as the founder and CEO of ScaleInsight K.K. in Japan. ScaleInsight is a recruiting company that helps growing technology companies from the Silicon Valley enter and scale in the Japan market. Mr. Nimmer has over 18 years experience recruiting in Japan and has completed and/or contributed to more than 750+ searches (including over 67 Japan country manager/leadership-level searches) throughout the IT industry. He has also provided Japan market entry support consulting to 34+ technology companies that have successfully entered and/or scaled up in the Japan market. He also works closely with several venture capital firms to provide insights to their portfolio companies with regards to general hiring and business issues unique to Japan.
