What have you enjoyed most about your career?
“The part of the job that I love the most has been getting to interact and collaborate with brilliant people who are industry leaders within their field. I’ve also had the opportunity to attend events with incredible featured speakers like President Obama and Warren Buffett.”
How did Carthage prepare you?
“For two years, I had an internship with the web department. It got me hooked on working within the digital communications industry. I also took a lot of speech classes and writing-intensive courses resulting in communication with my peers that was more direct and purposeful. The last semester of my senior year, I took Professor Colleen O’Brien’s management course. That course really taught me how to see and treat people as individuals, which helped lead me to realize my own strengths and weaknesses.”
How has your liberal arts education benefitted you?
“When you attend a liberal arts school, you learn how to take a full spectrum approach when solving a problem. You don’t just focus on results, you focus more on the process of coming to the best solution by looking at a problem from an interdisciplinary standpoint.”
