What have you enjoyed most about your career?

“The thing I enjoy the most about my career is servicing and helping the underserved communities and often overlooked demographic customers and consumers in our industry: African Americans, Latin Americans, and the LGBTQ+ communities.”

How did Carthage prepare you?

“My time in front of an audience on the theatre stage and in public speaking classes gave me the tools and confidence that I use every day in all aspects of my career.”

How has your liberal arts education benefitted you?

“Due to Carthage’s welcoming environment of well-rounded and multi-involved students, I learned the importance of time management while overtaking multiple projects and still being able to balance personal life interests like volunteering and playing sports.”

Why did you choose Carthage?

“I fell in love with Carthage the moment I stepped out of my parents’ car on my initial college visit. The A. F. Siebert Chapel, the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center, the lake, and the faculty and staff made me feel at home from day one.”

What opportunities were made possible because of your Carthage experience?

“The best opportunities I experienced at Carthage were the opportunities to lead and collaborate. Whether it was my involvement in Greek life, working in the Office of Admissions as a tour guide, or participating on the track team, leadership was always on the forefront of my personal growth.”

What Carthage professors played a part in your success and how?

“There were so many professors who made such a positive impact on my Carthage experience: Prof. Daniel Scholwalter, Prof. David Brunn, Prof. Neil Scharnick, Prof. Jon Bruning, and Prof. Leslie Cameron. Because of them, I always felt supported on a personal level. I was more than a number. They were my support team and family.”

Were you an award recipient? If so, tell us about the awards you received and what they meant to you.

“I was selected as the student speaker during Commencement weekend festivities by students and faculty.”

What role have the values in Carthage's mission, "Seeking Truth, Building Strength, Inspiring Service — Together" played in your life?

“The Carthage mission has played a critical role in who I am. I am strong believer that giving back to the communities in which we live is the rent we pay for the opportunity to enjoy this great country. My recipe for life is: work hard and be the best version of yourself, celebrate life early and often, and give service as much as you can — it’s what it means to be a Carthaginian.”
