Karly Kattenbraker joined the Office of Continuing Studies (OCS) in October 2016 having previously served as a First Year Advisor in the Center for Student Success at Carthage. Originally from southern Illinois, she holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in education with a concentration in college student development from DePaul University.
As the Director for the Office of the Office of Continuing Studies, Karly does research and planning that supports the development of strategic initiatives, maintains and analyzes academic performance data, oversees the Adult Undergraduate Studies (AUS) student advising, maintains the AUS course schedule, facilitates the on-boarding of AUS instructors and manages the office’s website. Additionally, she is responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure needed to offer blended and potentially online courses through OCS. She also serves as an affiliate staff person for the Teaching Commons, where she supports AUS instructor development.
Prior to Carthage, Karly worked as an intern advisor in TRiO Student Support Services at DePaul University, where she advised first-generation, low-income students and helped them to successfully navigate their higher education experience. She also managed a service learning internship program for upperclassmen through the Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning at DePaul.
