Nursing

“Everyone should consider nursing because, in my opinion, it’s one of the most rewarding fields. You are able to directly impact patients’ and family lives through your care and you can be the person to provide them with hope.”

Career goal

“After graduating from Carthage, my goal is to become an ICU nurse and eventually become a nurse anesthetist.”

How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?

“Carthage faculty has impacted me greatly during my time at Carthage. I have been able to create strong relationships with professors due to the smaller class sizes. They have helped support me and guide me through my college career, and they have been extremely helpful in all aspects of school.”

Favorite class

“My favorite class at Carthage has been Pathophysiology because of Professor Cheryl Petersen. She was a phenomenal professor, and she helped motivate me and inspire me to try hard in my class. I learned a lot in that class, and it has helped me in my other nursing classes.”

Campus involvement

“I am a part of Delta Upsilon, which is one of the greek life organizations at Carthage. Being a part of Delta Upsilon has helped create some amazing bonds with friends and helped develop my knowledge of greek life.”

Toughest class

“My toughest class at Carthage thus far was pharmacology due to the workload the class brings. There is a lot of material to cover, and it was a lot for me my sophomore year.”

Opportunities at Carthage

“I have had some great opportunities, including being a resident assistant my junior year and a senior resident assistant my senior year. Through these positions, I have been able to make phenomenal connections and advance my interpersonal skills.”

Favorite moments and memories at Carthage

“Some of my favorite moments at Carthage include me playing basketball with my fraternity brothers and being in class with my friends.”
